Are you willing to reopen it, or does another ticket track this? I ask, because
I, now, have no idea what to say, to acquaintances, when they ask me whether a
better method of typing characters, that aren't available on their keyboard,
exists. The best that I have been able to recommend is KCharSelect. However,
that doesn't appear to support all of UTF-8 anymore: it, notably, lacks the
emoji codepoints.
