Since release 8.7.0, but also on 8.8.0, the appimage, when installed in ubuntu
with the appimage manager "gearl ever" as few problems:
- the icon does not appear in the dock when digikam is in use, I have instead
the cogwheel used as default icon
- I can not pin the app in the dock, when right clicking I do not have any of
the usual option for appimages, like: "new window" "unpin" "informations"
- on the launcher and the application list, digikam appears as "showphoto", but
is not listed as "digikam".
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install the appimage with "Gear lever"
(https://flathub.org/en/apps/it.mijorus.gearlever)
2. Launch it

OBSERVED RESULT
- the icon does not appear in the dock when digikam is in use, I have instead
the cogwheel used as default icon
- I can not pin the app in the dock, when right clicking I do not have any of
the usual option for appimages, like: "new window" "unpin" "informations"
- on the launcher and the application list, digikam appears as "showphoto", but
is not listed as "digikam".
EXPECTED RESULT
- digikam icon on the dock
- menu on right click on the icon to pin it to the dock
- digikam registered as digikam in the launcher and application list
