Ok, that sounds good! My original ticket was about only external monitor being enabled, so I think this patch fixes this case. However I just tested two monitors, and it actually works for me as well -- both monitors go to sleep and wake up on mouse/keyboard action. There is some flickering going on with built-in monitor (goes on and off several times), so it's not ideal but that's likely a different issue. I am using "kscreen-doctor --dpms off".
