device is connected to internet

SUMMARY
I use proton vpn, and it has a feature where it allows to enable a killswitch.
When i activate it, the wifi icon shows as not connected (see image), even
though i am connected to a wifi.
Problem is specific to when a killswitch is enabled, the icon works correctly
when the killswitch is not enabled.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. enable killswitch in proton vpn options
