Well that makes sense, then. :) When the daemon is running, it's exporting the
in-app menubars to some kind of other menu UI. There are two of them:
- Global menu widget (intended to be displayed on a panel)
- Menu button in the titlebar

You appear to have the latter. If you don't want to see your windows' menus
using this little titlebar button, there are two options:
1. Remove the "Application Menu" button from the titlebar in System Settings >
Colors & Themes > Window Decorations > Configure Titlebar Buttons (may be
behind a three-dot overflow menu)
2. Keep it there, but don't run this daemon
