I can confirm this bug still exists in Fedora 42 (Plasma 6.4.4). As soon as the
option "organize windows in the grid view" is disabled, only windows of the
currently selected desktop are visible. As a consequence, when a window is
moved to another desktop, it just disappears. As soon as the other desktop is
selected, the previously moved windows re-appear while the windows on the
previous desktop disappear.
I think that the non-grid-view overview is important. I tend to arrange windows
fitting to my workflow on different desktops and find it very useful to
maintain this structure when zooming out into overview. I perceive the
grid-overview as rather confusing, making me lose orientation each time I zoom
out.
