It turns out that xterm goes through XIM because it runs on X11. However, input cannot be performed in xterm, and this occurs consistently in X11 applications. Therefore, if this is also happening in an environment limited to XIM, it can be inferred that XIM is responsible, and thus the reasoning itself does not bring about any inconsistency. I would appreciate it if you could contribute any reasoning, hypotheses, or inferences that adhere to logic with consistency.
