It worked while the nvidia driver responded to "nvidia.NVreg_EnableBacklightHandler=0 nvidia.NVreg_RegistryDwords=EnableBrightnessControl=0" at boot, but unfortunately those options were removed some time ago. Manually echoing numbers to /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness is an ok workaround, but not very convenient.
