            Bug ID: 507711
Summary: Installation on Ubunu produces a front end with no
functional back end. Documentation solves nothing.
    Classification: Applications
           Product: kigo
      Version First 0.6.250390
       Reported In:
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

This may be a case of developers simply not documenting how to use their
product, but it's hard to say.
The KiGo installation using any of snap command line install, Ubuntu App
Center or apt-get produces a front end without a functional back end.

The front end shows a green light signifying a functioning back end even if
nothing is typed for a back end.
Installing gnugo and supplying the path of /usr/bin/gnugo has no effect. The
configuration page shows a green button (which is meaningless) and the
application indicates in red text that there is no back end.

The fact that the developers can get this working doesn't mean it's ready for
public use.
If this only works on KDE systems, it should not be available to install on
Gnome systems.
