Yes, now that I think about it, you're absolutely right. The slowdown stops as
soon as the drive is plugged in.

Yes, it's on the list.

The word "mount" does not appear anywhere in the entire output triggered just
after the logon.

While doing this test to get the output of `journalctl`, I also noticed that
when I retrieve a notification during the slowdown, it shows up directly in the
middle of the screen. It has no frame and is bigger than usual (it didn't get
the proper styling?).
