I see the same problem on KDE Neon with all updates.
Error message when starting from terminal:
"QPaintDevice: Cannot destroy paint device that is being painted"
According to https://discuss.kde.org/t/kdenlive-crashes/35357 this crash is due
to a broken frei0r-plugins package in KDE Neon.
