I recently noticed this bug still exists. Not only is the pattern not applied
(true for all closed shapes) the option in the tool options docker is also
missing when trying to edit the shape after it was created. Back then I already
investigated this and it seems it was introduced in version 5.1 because it
still worked as expected in 5.0.

What makes this especially problematic is that it once worked fine and people
who rely on this feature are stuck to version 5.0 or earlier which is two years
old by now. And even back then the UI option is missing from the tool options
docker (after selecting a shape).
