Hi everyone,

I’ve been facing a really frustrating issue lately on my Windows 11 PC. Every
time I right-click on a file or folder in File Explorer, it freezes for several
seconds or sometimes doesn’t respond at all. It’s making basic file management
extremely slow.

I’ve tried:

Running sfc /scannow (no issues found)

Disabling third-party context menu handlers via ShellExView

Restarting Windows Explorer via Task Manager

Even created a new user profile — same issue persists

Specs:

Windows 11 Pro (latest update)

16GB RAM, Intel i5 12th Gen

No recent software changes before the issue started

I read this guide about fixing File Explorer issues
(https://techlasi.com/savvy/get-help-with-file-explorer-in-windows-guide/) and
followed some of the tips there, which helped a bit — but the problem still
comes back intermittently.

Any ideas? Could it be a background service or some registry corruption?

Appreciate any advice — thanks!
