It's clear that Wayland is what we'd have to use for a foreseeable future so it'd be dumb to hold onto "gimme X11 back". FWIW I think that in general 6.4 is better than previous version (would be weird if it was other way around). However, why I attached this article is that it kinda shows that system overall requires more resources to run, not just kwin.
