Combined screenshots of the help note and the configuration with the relevant
parts highlighted
Some 6-7 months back this regression has been introduced. Previously it was
possible to have items selected and copied in the clipboard list but keep them
separate. Middle click would paste the selection, Ctrl-V would paste the
explicitly copied item and both would be kept in the clipboard history.
The help note for "Selection and clipboard" option explains that options below
(Text selection) will control this behaviour, but unfortunately the option will
get reset/greyed out when "Selection and clipboard" is unchecked.
To put it differently: when "Selection and clipboard" is unchecked, the "Text
selection" option gets reverted to "Only when explicitly copied" and I'm unable
to select "Always save in history" as it was previously possible. I presume
that someone made the "Text selection" part of the configuration dependent on
the "Selection and clipboard" which was not the case in previous versions.
Attached are the screenshots of the help popup and the config screens.
