Bug ID: 506073 Summary: Automatic update doesn't work because no sha256 files on server Classification: Applications Product: digikam Version First 8.1.0 Reported In: Platform: Microsoft Windows OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: kdeb...@elsidee.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 182579 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=182579&action=edit Error message SUMMARY Trying to use the 'Check for new version' option in the help menu fails because it can't find the sha256 file on the server. It appears that the files have been renamed '.sig', so can be fixed by copying these files to also have a '.sha256' suffix STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. In version 8.1.0, click 'Help' 2. Click 'Check for new version' 3. In @nd dialogue box that opens, click 'Download' OBSERVED RESULT Error message : File not found error for digiKam-8.6.0-Win64.exe.sha256 EXPECTED RESULT Download and install new version SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 10 macOS: (available in the Info Center app, or by running `kinfo` in a terminal window) Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The whole point of this option is to make life easy for newbies, it needs to be fixed by including an sha256 file in the directory so that the action will complete, not by telling people to download a newer, 'fixed' version. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
