Bug ID: 505375 Summary: Error when opening Discover when using bootc + containers-storage transport Classification: Applications Product: Discover Version First unspecified Reported In: Platform: Other OS: Other Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: rpm-ostree Backend Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: m...@shanemcd.com CC: aleix...@kde.org, mariamfahm...@gmail.com, trav...@redhat.com Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 182114 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=182114&action=edit Screenshot of error SUMMARY Hello. I am using bootc switch --transport container-storage with my Kinoite-based OSTree image. Things work fine for the most part, but I do have this error when opening the Discover application: rpm-ostree transaction failed with: time="2025-06-05T16:59:17-04:00" level=fatal msg="Error parsing image name \"docker://quay.io/shanemcd/mybox:20250604-x86_64\": reading manifest 20250604-x86_64 in quay.io/shanemcd/mybox: manifest unknown" I can't find anything actually broken because of this, but wouldn't really know where to look to know for sure. Dismissing it allows me to carry on and perform other actions. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. On a system with bootc, run bootc switch --transport containers-storage quay.io/shanemcd/mybox:latest-x86_64 2. systemctl reboot 3. Once the system comes back up, open Discover. Observe error. OBSERVED RESULT rpm-ostree transaction failed with: time="2025-06-05T16:59:17-04:00" level=fatal msg="Error parsing image name \"docker://quay.io/shanemcd/mybox:20250604-x86_64\": reading manifest 20250604-x86_64 in quay.io/shanemcd/mybox: manifest unknown" EXPECTED RESULT No error SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Fedora Linux 42 KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.14.0 Qt Version: 6.9.0 Kernel Version: 6.14.9-300.fc42.x86_64 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: offscreen Processors: 28 × Intel® Core™ i7-14700K Memory: 94.0 GiB of RAM -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
