Obviously, the intention is a long-term actual fix. 'Short term duct
taping'/workarounds are not for the long run, it's just a temporary thing so
that the software works while we wait for a fix from upstream, who are aware of
these issues and already working on 'just fixing the bug instead'.

BTW, I mentioned the performance issues with vulkan above, which is why I
didn't suggest the zink workaround earlier, and instead suggested xwayland. Of
course, some users may not have X11 support at all, so the zink workaround
would be required for them.
