            Bug ID: 504803
Summary: Lock screen must have less information when not
                    requiring password
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: plasmashell
      Version First 6.3.5
       Reported In:
          Platform: Arch Linux
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Screen locking
          Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
          Reporter: sam.grandj...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: 1.0

SUMMARY

When the screen locking is configured to "never require password", there should
be less information in the overlay. Its controls are also unreachable.

Here's a description of the currently displayed elements and their rationale
for removal:
- Time: This should be kept if set as shown in the settings, but is only
visible on lock, afterwards and keyboard/mouse input will make the lock screen
disappear
- Name + avatar: This could be kept, but is only visible on lock, afterwards
and keyboard/mouse input will make the lock screen disappear
- Multimedia controls: This should be kept if set as shown in the settings, but
is only visible on lock, afterwards and keyboard/mouse input will make the lock
screen disappear
- Password input: Useless, since there is no password to enter
- Logout controls: Useless, since the lock screen disappears on keyboard/mouse
input
- keyboard controls: Useless, since the lock screen disappears on
keyboard/mouse input
- Battery indicator: Useless, since the lock screen disappears on
keyboard/mouse input

So unless the name/avatar are kept, or the time or multimedia controls are set
to be shown, the whole overlay on the login screen could be skipped altogether
when lock password is never required.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. In "System Settings" > "Security & Privacy" > "Screen Locking", set "Delay
before password required" to "Never require password"
2. Trigger the lock screen (by using the keyboard shortcut or waiting the
timeout)

OBSERVED RESULT

The overlay is displayed with useless information and unreachable controls.

EXPECTED RESULT

The overlay is not displayed when locking the screen.
