Other than "undoing" a prior split, there isn't really any way to 'merge' clips
in kdenlive
and I'm not even really sure what a UI for that might look like (how do you
tell it how
you want the text merged?  there are lots of ways you might want to combine
them).

You can already copy text between subtitles in the 'normal way' (selecting the
bits you
want in the editor window for the clip you want to copy from, pasting it
wherever you
want it in the clip you're copying to).  And deleting a clip you've superseded
is trivial.

Does that not do what you want to do about as
easily/flexibly/powerfully/intuitively
as manipulating text should be?
