I hope this works:
1. create >1 activity
2. add a folderview widget to both desktops (desktop as containment)
3. setup both folderviews to show activity linked files
4. create some folders and adjust that the folder icons are selected jpg or png
files from the disk
5. link this folders to the activities
6. check whether icons are shown correctly after switching around activities
(hopefully not correctly shown :-))
