Hi - I can't reproduce this on my Fedora KDE 42 device - there is a clear
option for "JPEG image" in the Save As File type dropdown, and saving as
another image type definitely changes the image type, as verifiable by running
head <filename>.
Is there a chance that you are missing some dependencies of Gwenview on your
device? I noticed that its Arch Linux package has several image format packages
as "optional" dependencies.
