            Bug ID: 503660
Summary: Screen brightness setting not available via system
                    settings
    Classification: Applications
           Product: systemsettings
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
          Reporter: e...@horse64.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

The system tray has some accessibility issues for me, which is why I commonly
disable it. The main reason is that the control over what's visible or not is a
mess, and there is no white list mode. This means however that changing screen
brightness at leas without special keyboard shortcuts seems to be unavailable,
because there doesn't seem to be a different alternate dialog available to the
system tray. For example, searching "brightness" in the system settings only
shows the delayed dimming of the power settings, but not the current in the
moment screen brightness slider.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Disable system tray
2. Open system settings
3. Try to find "brightness" setting for screen

OBSERVED RESULT

There is no in-the-moment brightness setting. Only the dimming setting for
power saving after inactivity appears to be available, which isn't the same
thing.

EXPECTED RESULT

There is a brightness setting in the system settings that is easy to find.
