I know I've run into this in the last few days.
As a matter of fact, I also ran into a similar and potentially related problem
today. I had been trying to get one of my two monitors to display something
after waking.
The system was hard locked, I wasn't even able to get to a TTY. I had to power
cycle the system.
There are no related coredumps listed by coredumpctl
