I had a similar issue with the "kwin_scene_opengl: 0x1: GL_INVALID_OPERATION in
glDrawBuffers(unsupported buffer GL_BACK_LEFT)" messages repeatedly showing up
in the /var/log/syslog file. It caused my system to slow down, freeze or crash
depending on the load and the uptime. This was resolved by adding this to the
kernel boot parameters

nvidia.NVreg_EnableGpuFirmware=0
