            Bug ID: 503429
Summary: Copying and pasting characters sometimes pastes \u
                    characters
    Classification: I don't know
           Product: kde
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Ubuntu
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: unassigned-b...@kde.org
          Reporter: friedrichfroebel...@t-online.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

Copying characters from the clipboard history (like ž) and pasting them into
Kate regularly does not paste ž, but as the corresponding `\u` sequence.

I could not identify a reliable way to do this.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Copy ž to the clipboard.
2. Copy some other characters to the clipboard.
3. Copy ž from the clipboard.
4. Paste it into Kate.

OBSERVED RESULT

>From time to time, instead of pasting ž, the corresponding `\u` would be
inserted. Copying the entry from the clipboard manager again usually fixes this
for the current character.

EXPECTED RESULT

The inserted character is always ž.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Linux/KDE Plasma: TUXEDO OS
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.2
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.11.0
