SUMMARY
Please consider creating a menu item to allow to restart the app.
This would allow to do multiple things in a single shortcut:
* sync pending/lazy metadata
* flush any memory bugs
* refresh file updates from disk
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
* Tools|Settings - Restart (or a shortcut)
EXPECTED RESULT
* Pending metadata is saved
* Digikam and other sub-processes are closed.
* Digikam is reopened
* Files updated are ingested
