            Bug ID: 502859
Summary: [UX, wish] Make "Format" a prominent option in
                    partitions' context menu
    Classification: Applications
           Product: partitionmanager
           Version: 24.12.3
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: andr...@stikonas.eu
          Reporter: bizy...@pm.me
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I just discovered that KPM can re-format partitions without deleting them and
creating anew. Surprisingly, it's hidden in the “Properties” dialog, which I
assumed would be read-only.

It would be nice if right-clicking a partition displayed a prominent “Format…”
action, similarly to how it's done in GParted.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Launch KPM from a USB stick's context menu in Dolphin.
2. Right-click the partition.

OBSERVED RESULT
No obvious way to format the partition, either to change the FS type or to
empty the drive, in either the context menu or the toolbar.

EXPECTED RESULT
A “Format…” action is presented, as advertised by Dolphin.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: openSUSE Tumbleweed 20250403
KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.12.0
Qt Version: 6.8.2
Kernel Version: 6.14.0-1-default (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Also, choosing a different file system in “Properties” should probably hide the
“Re-create the current file system” checkbox, since it's a contradictory
action. If a user selects a different file system, but then checks this option,
the file system won't change after the operation, which can be unexpected.
