Hi Jonathan,
I recommend you kill it now.  What kind of scan was running when it hung?  Were
you doing Tools->Maintenance->Detect and Recognize Faces->Rebuild all training
data, or were you doing a full face scan?

Before you go to sleep tonight, can you start a new scan of the same kind?  It
should finish normally if you're not using your computer.
