Yes, global menus on X do work but the whole idea of this BUG is for it work
under Wayland.
As the time progresses X support will fade away and Wayland will become
unavoidable, if it's not already is...
ATM I get by with X but I miss modern features like gravity scrolling, gestures
and proper scaling to name a few.
In fact, I am avoiding hardware upgrades since new machines tend to have larger
resolutions and X struggles to support those properly.
