Bug ID: 502099 Summary: Problems on a global scale. Blurry icons. Classification: Plasma Product: plasmashell Version: 6.3.3 Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Desktop icons & Folder View widget Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: jzero...@gmail.com CC: h...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 Created attachment 179798 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=179798&action=edit Blur sample of the bar *** If you're not sure this is actually a bug, instead post about it at https://discuss.kde.org If you're reporting a crash, attach a backtrace with debug symbols; see https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports Please remove this comment after reading and before submitting - thanks! *** SUMMARY My default screen in both X11 and Wayland is at 100%, this scale leaves the screen too small, probably due to the HDPI, since this scale is the sharpest, but when you zoom in, both fractional and basic, icons, and in some cases the text itself becomes blurry. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Change global scale 2. Increase to more than 100% 3. Choose a larger one while maintaining sharpness OBSERVED RESULT Icons and some fonts at some scales become very blurry EXPECTED RESULT Being able to scale to a larger than 100% scale is not so far away and still have sharp icons and fonts. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Manjaro Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.12.0 Qt Version: 6.8.2 Kernel Version: 6.12.19-1-MANJARO (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i3-1005G1 CPU @ 1.20GHz Memory: 11.5 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: Intel® UHD Graphics ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Searching the arch wiki I found some HDPI variables on plasma that apply scaling well to very sharp but the desktop has graphical bugs and empty spaces on the screen that the windows do not fill. https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/HiDPI#Modern_HiDPI_support_(kmscon) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
