Bug ID: 501834 Summary: Scanning a Directory also reads top tree Classification: Applications Product: digikam Version: 8.6.0 Platform: Microsoft Windows OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Database-Scan Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: hoel...@cmhc.de Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When scanning a directory on the left sidebar via right-click and selecting refresh the process takes a very long time, e.g. a folder containing 100 images takes about 10 - 15 minutes to refresh. This is only the case when the folder that is to be refreshed is inside a directory with many other folders. It seems that the more folders are on the same directory level, the longer it takes to refresh the directory. This leeds me to the assumption that the whole tree is scanned when only the directory itself needs to be refreshed. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. On the left side bar select a folder, right-click and select "refresh" OBSERVED RESULT When this folder is inside a directory with many folders (>100) on the same level, the scan takes 10-15 minutes, wile the folder itself only contains few images (< 100). EXPECTED RESULT Scanning the folder should only take a few seconds as it contains only few images (< 100).
