Typically Ctrl+S is the shortcut for saving, not Alt+S. If Alt+S works, it's
because there's visible text somewhere that has a mnemonic accelerator under
it. Ctrl+S will always work though, so you can use that, FWIW.
Can you clarify how you're using the app? After step 1, what do you see,
specifically? There are several options here depending on how you have the app
configured.
And then after step 2, can you also be specific about what exactly you see?
