Bug ID: 501606 Summary: New URL/Location Bar background does not indicate edit state (too light/dark) Classification: Frameworks and Libraries Product: frameworks-kio Version: 6.12.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: URL navigator Assignee: kio-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: breakingsp...@gmail.com CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Please refer to my feedback on https://invent.kde.org/frameworks/kio/-/merge_requests/1793#note_1170629 RE: https://bugs.kde.org/475106 STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Dolphin and navigate to a folder 2. Location Bar background is shaded now (lighter shade in light mode, darker in dark) 3. However, clicking to edit the bar does not change the background shade as before. OBSERVED RESULT The Location Bar seems "stuck" in edit mode, when it's not. Other indicators are the only way to know. EXPECTED RESULT The Location Bar should be visibly different when editing the text field and when not. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS KDE Plasma Version: 6.3.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.12 Qt Version: 6.8.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I brainstorm this could be resolved by introducing a new colorscheme value to use for the default URL bar state, only a slight slight shade difference from the header. Not sure if this value could be calculated dynamically, but having it as a colorscheme value seems like the best solution. Personally, I much preferred when the default location bar matched the header as it has for years. A slight shade of a difference could change my mind, but if given the option to define the color in my preferences, I will likely set it back to match the header exactly. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
