It looks like the workaround you posted there still works to this very day. My Discover was crashing, I used that command and it now works. This is despite a major version of both the Ubuntu base and Plasma having been released in the meantime, and of my system working perfectly before updating to Plasma 6.3.2 (from 5.27.10).
