Same exact issues here on two systems over about 2 years of use. Some
observations:
- Both use proprietary NVIDIA drivers and the issue is the same across many
versions over the years and different kernels.
- It only occurs on X11. No such issues on Wayland.
- One distro is Manjaro, other is EndeavourOS.
- Different NVIDIA cards (GTX 960 desktop and GTX 1650 MaxQ mobile)
- Sometimes the login screen eventually appears, sometimes not at all.
- The taskbar freezes and as I'm typing it has been frozen for a good 20
minutes.
