Hi Andy,
You need to download and install a new version of digiKam.  On the download
page, you'll see a version of digiKam with "-debug" at the end of the name. 
This is the file to download and install. The debug version of digiKam includes
more information to help Maik, Gilles, and I see what the problem is.  It's a
whole new installer, and not just a command line parameter to the existing
program.  

Click this link to download the debug version:
https://files.kde.org/digikam/digiKam-8.6.0-20250225T100206-Qt6-Win64-debug.exe

Once it's downloaded, you can install it normally like the non-debug version.
