gudvinr+...@gmail.com changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ever confirmed|0 |1 Resolution|UPSTREAM |--- Status|RESOLVED |REOPENED --- Comment #8 from gudvinr+...@gmail.com --- This MR should affect latency issues: https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/issues/134 But with 6.3 I still see the issue and it's only happening on wayland. Still the same CPU spikes and stutter under load. This reddit topic says it's happening on nvidia and AMD: https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/1h36efe/minor_cursor_stutters_on_wayland_with_nvidia/ Here's another NVIDIA issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/1bay0qz/mouse_cursor_on_wayland_lags_nvidia/ This topic is quite fresh, definitely after 6.1. Both AMD and Intel: https://www.reddit.com/r/linuxquestions/comments/1g7va4j/cursor_lag_on_wayland_normal/ But from what I looked up, Intel issue essentially comes down to this driver issue: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/drm/i915/kernel/-/issues/9415 In this reddit topic people also say it's still happening on 6.1: https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/1335gj5/mouse_feels_laggy_and_slow_on_wayland_compared_to/ >From what I see on the internet when it comes down to NVIDIA, it's "nvidia should fix this" and with intel it's the same. But I have neither of those. So, even if stutter caused by upstream bug, how can I debug this to confirm it it is, in fact, the driver? For now it doesn't seem like an upstream bug because mouse stutter happens on hardware from any manufacturer and only on wayland. Although other compositors do have similar issues. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
