But as it turns out, it soon won't be necessary, as Qt 6.9 will be much better in this regard. I tried it out on one of my computers and it's smooth as-is, without any further changes like the ones I implemented. This will be released in a month or two, and should improve the situation a lot once it makes it into distributions.
