It seems to me that this has been prematurely closed. Cloning is a fantastic
feature and a good step forward, but does not address the root of this feature
request and what I (and so many others) would really like to see. This feature
is instead requesting a mirroring of ongoing changes across multiple
panels,*not* cloning.

I would not be against the closing of any other "clone" requests but, again,
this particular issue has not been resolved and I believe it should stay open
as a reflection of the ongoing interest it has, even if it is not currently
planned due to present difficulty or development limitations.
