KDevPlatform and KDevelop share a single repository now. So bugs should be
reported against Product=Applications/kdevelop most of the time. Newer kdevelop
versions are available for selection.
KDevelop opens a .dts file via the default text editor on my system, probably
because Okteta has not been ported to KF6 yet. You can override how to open a
file by right clicking a file entry in the Projects, Documents or File System
tool view => Open With => Default Editor. KDevelop should remember your choice
for the MIME type.

Please report a bug to https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xdg/shared-mime-info/ ,
or even implement proper detection of the MIME type for the .dts extension
yourself.
