Bug ID: 499931 Summary: Windows have a noticeable snapping when dragging with Wobbly Windows effect Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: 6.3.0 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: eamonn...@protonmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Windows now have a noticeable snapping when moving them with the Wobbly Windows effect. This is most noticeable if a window is grabbed and very slowly dragged around with high mouse sensitivity. It happens regardless of scale factor, and to my eyes is not any more or less noticeable at different scale factors. This is also quite noticeable if you "fling" a window, for example using Alt+Drag to move a window from anywhere and flinging it off to the side, there will be a period where it "snaps" by a pixel or so after it stops moving. This is either not present or just not very noticeable (or noticeable at all?) without the Wobbly Windows effect. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Enable the Wobbly Windows effect. 2. Very slowly drag a window, or "fling" a window as described. 3. There is a snapping present. OBSERVED RESULT Windows are snapping to the nearest position. EXPECTED RESULT This snapping should be less visible or not visible at all, if possible.
