            Bug ID: 499801
           Summary: No support for CinemaDNG
    Classification: Applications
           Product: kdenlive
           Version: 24.12.2
          Platform: Arch Linux
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Project Bin & Import
          Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
          Reporter: vamp898-kde@ikaros.space
  Target Milestone: ---

kdenlive supports a lot of proprietary RAW formats which is cool but
surprisingly it seems to not support the free/open RAW format that exists,
CinemaDNG.

Because my camera records in CinemaDNG, i have to use an famous, linux
supporting but proprietary video editing tool. As far as i could see, pretty
much every video editing tool supports CinemaDNG except for kdenlive. Not sure
how that came to be but as CinemaDNG uses fully-documented, vendor-neutral,
standard formats for video and imaging – DNG, TIFF/EP, and MXF and also the
format is unencrypted and free from intellectual property encumbrances or
license requirements, it should be no issue to implement it in kdenlive.
