Bug ID: 499564 Summary: Uploading Files to Firefox/Librewolf freezes either the Browser or the entire system completely Classification: Frameworks and Libraries Product: frameworks-kio Version: 6.10.0 Platform: Arch Linux OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: grave Priority: NOR Component: Open/save dialogs Assignee: kio-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: k...@kuchenmampfer.de CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY When I try to upload a File via Firefox or Librewolf, sometimes the entire Desktop freezes entirely and sumetimes just the Browser freezes. In the latter case, it is impossible to kill the Browser by killing its processes. By trying this, I also observed a bunch of kio-processes and therefore suspected that the problem might be related to that since I run the beta version of plasma on this device and the same task works flawlessly on another device where I use stable plasma and everything else (that might play a role) is the same. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open Firefox to a Website that allows uploading Files 2. Upload a File via the dialog or drag and drop OBSERVED RESULT The Browser or the entire System freezes and becomes unresponsive until I hard reset the system. EXPECTED RESULT Uploading works just fine. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.91 KDE Frameworks Version: 6.10.0 Qt Version: 6.9.0 Kernel Version: 6.13.1-arch1-1 (64-bit) Graphics Platform: Wayland Processors: 8 × AMD Ryzen 7 4700U with Radeon Graphics Memory: 30.7 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon Graphics Manufacturer: TUXEDO Product Name: TUXEDO Aura 15 Gen1 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Variants I have tried and that all result in the bug: - Browser: Firefox 135.0 or Librewolf 134.0.2-1 both as Flatpaks from Flathub - Websites: Element or StirlingPDF - File-choosing-process: Dialog or Drag and Drop - File-Type: PDF or PNG -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
