Bug ID: 499386 Summary: virtual desktop switching reverses direction, sometimes fails Classification: Plasma Product: kwin Version: unspecified Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: iestynap...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY With "Mouse & Touchpad" > "Screen Edges" > "Switch desktop on edge" set to "Always enabled" and also "Window Management" > "Virtual Desktops" > "Navigation wraps around" turned on, there is unexpected behaviour at the boundaries of the virtual desktop grid. STEPS TO REPRODUCE In a 2x2 virtual desktop grid: 1. Move mouse cursor to the top of the screen, windows move down and cursor is placed at the bottom of the virtual desktop above. 2. Continue moving the mouse cursor upward to the top of that virtual desktop to scroll past the grid's boundary and allow the wrap-around to move it to the bottom virtual desktop. OBSERVED RESULT Windows move upward and cursor is placed at the bottom of the screen. EXPECTED RESULT Windows move downward and cursor is placed at the bottom of the screen, consistent with behaviour in step 1 above. Moreover, if you attempt to reverse this last navigation, virtual desktop switching fails completely: With cursor still at the bottom of the screen, move downward. OBSERVED RESULT Windows don't move, virtual desktop does not switch, but cursor is now at the top of the screen. EXPECTED RESULT Reversal of the previous navigation: windows moving, virtual desktop switching to the top desktop of the grid, cursor placed at the top of the screen.
