My drawing process is quite simple, I try to use only the very, very basic
tools

In my process I use, and was using at the time the error occurred, the
following tools:
- Brush/Eraser (a very basic brush, nothing special, no textures or other
“advanced” features, just pressure sensitivity and a regular round shape)
- Selection (mostly Freehand Selection) in combination with Transform Tool
(Move, Resize)
- Pan and Zoom

Occasionally I was able to Undo <last action> via the Edit menu (I have the
Undo hotkey unbind).
I could also turn Dockers on and off (Settings > Show Dockers).
And create layers, but I create the most common layers - Paint Layer. When I
use the Freehand Selection tool, it also automatically creates a Selection
Layer.
I may have also used Mirror View (View > Zoom, Rotate and Mirror > Mirror
View).

I think that's it for now. I don't think I've missed anything - the tools
described are my usual process, and it's unlikely I was using anything
complex/advanced at the time, because I try to keep my approach as close to
traditional as possible, minimizing all digital “advantages”. I try to use only
the simplest brush and eraser, and so I don't even use Undo - only when I'm
checking the brush on the canvas and I need to remove a stroke that was applied
during the check, but I don't use Undo in the actual painting process, just the
brush and eraser. Eventually I plan to even abandon the Transform Tool, but...
for now, it's a bit difficult for me.
