But let's have a plan and work toward it. 1) is also fine but then, let's state that clearly so that we can stop coming back to this bug (its almost 4 years old now) every few months. To me, it almost feels like, because this bug is open, someone is working on it in the background when, in reality, no one is, and there is no way of knowing if someone is or not.
