Hi - I don't believe that the repeated "finalized without ever returning" is
necessarily indicative of the problem, based on

If you perform a zypper dup right after seeing this issue occur - when the
NVIDIA driver updates are still pending - are you prompted by zypper for
approval or acceptance of an NVIDIA license agreement, or do you get any other
interactive prompt asking you for information to continue the update?
