            Bug ID: 498802
Summary: Change the new system-wide middle-click-scrolling
                    (autoscroll) behavior
    Classification: Plasma
           Product: kwin
           Version: 6.2.5
          Platform: Fedora RPMs
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: input
          Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
          Reporter: waynejw...@outlook.com
                CC: duha.b...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

first of all, it is nice to have the ability to apply middle-click-scrolling
now system-wide in the settings menu.

unfortunately it behaves very strange.

ACTUAL RESULT
1. click with the middle mouse button (aka the mouse wheel)
2. scrolling works like this: the mouse acts somewhat like a physical
representation of the on-screen scroll handle of the UI.
this means, when you don't move the mouse, the scrolling stops. this is not as
middle-click-scrolling is usually implemented in other programs. it makes
scrolling through very long pages/documents very difficult, because you have to
drag the mouse very far, so far actually, that you might have to replace the
mouse on your desktop/mousepad.

EXPECTED RESULT
scrolling direction and speed should be determined by changing the distance of
the cursor from the autoscroll focus point (i.e. like firefox or chrome or
vivaldi or libreoffice does)

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Fedora Linux 41
Linux/KDE Plasma: 6.2.5
