            Bug ID: 373642
           Summary: Customisation enhancement
           Product: kdeplasma-addons
           Version: 5.5.5
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: wishlist
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Application Dashboard
          Assignee: h...@kde.org
          Reporter: udip...@gmail.com
                CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

The Application Dashboard is a great addon, that I like to use.

My desire is still - like on good old plasma-netbook - to have a single icon
for a group of applications.
That is, almost like Application Dashboard, but without the tree inbetween. I
tried in the editor to delete all categories but one, and - never ever do that!
- destroyed my kde menu. So when you edit this, you edit not the particular
Application Dashboard, but the system-wide kde-menu!
Plus, it still had the category to select from.

It should be possible, to kind of take the existing Application Dashboard code,
remove the tree, and instead configure a category ('Office', 'Internet',
'User-Defined', etc.), and pop up the entries of only that category when
clicking the launcher, that is the desktop icon for that modified Application
Dashboard.
Then one can have a multiple icons as 'quick-starter', popping up a dashboard
containing exactly the icons of that category (only).
